About Global Surroundings
Global Surroundings, LLC, is a manufacturer and importer of antique and handcrafted teak furniture and accessories. JL and Jay Jackson founded Global Surroundings, LLC, in 1998 after living and traveling several years throughout South East Asia. Their main facility is located in Java, Indonesia, and the U.S. Headquarters is in Phoenix, Arizona.

The factory has come a long ways since 1998 when it hand-crafted furniture from a shed with a tin roof and no walls. "We had a small, crude facility with hardly any electric tools and, of course, no air-conditioning," explains JL.
"Today we still hand-craft the furniture, but with the growth our distribution network of retailers across the US, we have moved into a new facility that is more efficient and better for everyone."
The new factory includes state-of-the-art machinery and a kiln for drying the wood.

Recently the Jacksons moved from their home town of Minneapolis, Minnesota , to Fountain Hills, Arizona, where they reside with their daughters Eva and Annika Leigh.
