About Global Surroundings:

Global Surroundings LLC is a manufacturer and importer of antique and handcrafted teak furniture and accessories. JL and Jay Jackson founded Global Surroundings  LLC after living and traveling several years throughout South East Asia. Our main facility is located in Java, Indonesia and our U.S. Headquarters is in Phoenix, Arizona.

Our craftsmen are all natives of the region. Our goal is to provide our  retail clients with heirloom furniture without harm to the region's ecology, or the people and their traditions.

We offer distinctive off-the-floor pieces and custom designs built exactly to your specifications.

 In addition, we are a source for artifacts and unique antique pieces from all over Indonesia that include ceramic pots, wicker and rattan baskets and other interesting pieces.  Many of these eclectic antiques offer surprising functionality in today's homes and offices.

If we don't have or can't locate that special piece for which you've been looking, one of our craftsmen will build it for you.

Children smiling.jpg (34977 bytes) Their families trade in a wood house and get a new brick home, once only a dream. We buy and dismantle their house, re-using every part to create our furniture. Your customers get new, unique, premium wood furniture, without damage to the rain forest or the children's homeland.

 Once we purchase and dismantle the homes, we use every part of the house to build our furniture. Here is a stock pile of teak to be used "as-is" in its rustic form, or planed down for a smoother finish. Using teak wood, we can build any style of furniture for your design client or your retail customer.

All of our furniture is handcrafted and finished with hand-rubbed stain.

Carver in action.jpg (39823 bytes) Our workshop is located in a village setting surrounded by a river and shaded by bamboo groves and giant fruit trees. It provides a peaceful and quiet setting where the craftsmen can concentrate their minds on producing their handcrafted items of furniture. Most of the workers live on site in two village homes provided for accommodation.  Meals are provided by our factory and are cooked by a neighbor. Meals consist of a huge bowl of rice with fresh cooked vegetables, soya bean cakes, kampung chicken and eggs, all washed down with a steaming glass of hot tea.

Global Surroundings  LLC is a wholesale furniture manufacturer.  We sell only  to the trade.
