I am a retailer/designer. How do you find out about becoming a retailer or about a quotation on a commercial project?

Please call or email us. We will get you pricing and explain how to purchase from us.

I am an end user. Can I buy direct from you?

Global Surroundings LLC will be opening a new design studio in Scottsdale, Arizona in the fall of 2009 for you to purchase directly from us. This is primarily for custom made furniture designed to your specifications. We also sell through our existing retailer network across the U.S. Please contact us at jl@globalsurroundings.com and we will provide you the name of a retailer in your area.

Do you provide special volume discounts for retailers?

Yes, please inquire about our "Container Direct Program".

Are you damaging the rainforests when you manufacture your furniture?

No! What makes Global Surroundings so unique is we purchase old teak houses roughly 80 years old. We reuse every part of the house except the tile roof so every piece has an interesting story. For our Outdoor Teak Furniture, Global Surroundings’ teakwood is harvested from the island of Java. We use only teakwood that is under strict control of Perum Perhutani of the Indonesian Government thus ensuring only a limited number of trees are harvested and proper reforestation is implemented each year. This Policy of cutting and replanting ensures not only an ample supply of this country's valuable natural resources but also provides for continuous local employment.

How exactly is the furniture made?

Each piece of furniture from Global Surroundings is hand-made from start to finish. Many traditional "Old World" methods are used in the construction of these unique products. The individual workmanship may cause slight differences in measurements and finish. This solid wood product constantly responds to it's environment, therefore, the furniture has a subtle distressed look. Some splitting or cracking may occur. The imperfect nature of the wood from the old houses that we dismantle and finishing methods create an antique look that is part of the charm and appeal of the product. Please be aware that these blemishes and imperfections are non-structural in nature and are to be expected.
